This line refers to the images in the book. The Hidden Visions means that we are meant to find something hidden within the images. "Once Divine Creatures" affirms connection with "Damned Beasts", meaning that the figures mentioned previously, Promethian Serpents and the King of Terrors, were in fact once divine before having fallen from grace. Meaning, they had descended from the divine realm, to take form in the lower Earthly realm.

Or, what their character represents in both a symbolic sense and in its visual, formal sense.
