"The Three Worlds":

As mentioned in the PDFs released after the puzzle's close, the three worlds traveled through by Tiresias are the states of being "male, hermaphrodite, to female". In alchemical terms, male is Solar in character (reason, intellect), female is Lunar (subconsciousness, natural response), and the hermaphrodite is the result of the "chemical marriage" between the two.

The "chemical marriage" could be represented as the Vesica Piscis. A circle drawn in the middle, between the two circles, could also stand to represent the hermaphroditic state; the state in between.
